Getting Well And Staying Well

Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3, Lesson 4, Lesson 5, Lesson 6, Lesson 7, Lesson 8

Lesson 9, Lesson 10, Lesson 11, Attitude, Getting Well and Staying Well

1. Be thankful. Find something to be thankful for, regardless of the situation-an attitude of gratitude.

2. Bless the lives of others. Be careful with your words; tell the truth, and avoid negative speech.

3. Healthy people serve others while the unhealthy are too often consumed with themselves and their own problems. What you extend into he lives of others determines what comes to you in life.

4. Learn to forgive and let go, so you can get on with your life. Many studies have now shown that forgiving enhances health and helps prevent chemical changes in the body that lead to disease. Forgiveness is the way to create a future better than the past.

5. Live in harmony with those around you. Seek peace everywhere, and you will find it.

6. Learn to accept whatever decision is made. Do your best to keep your peace of mind. Peace is a healer. Set peace as your goal before you enter into any situation.

7. Learn from your mistakes and allow others to do the same. Don't stand over people and supervise every move. Give others the opportunity to grow. Teach and lead by example.

8. Don't talk about your misfortunes or illnesses. It doesn't do any good for you or the other person, and it teaches them to complain too. Save it for your health practitioner; they are paid to listen to your problems. Focus on what's working. What's right with you is always the starting point for growth.

9. Don't gossip. Gossip that comes through the grapevine is usually sour grapes. Be a person who speaks for the one who cannot. Gossip is always destructive, and reflects badly on you.

10. Spend 10 minutes a day reflecting on what is most important to you in life. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Listen to and follow your conscience/inner wisdom.

11. Exercise daily: Keep your spine and joints limber. Develop your abdominal muscles. Expand your lungs with specific exercises on a regular schedule. Keep flexible and strong.

12. Walk 10 minutes barefoot in the dewy grass or sand everyday, if you can. You'll sleep better.

13. No smoking. Minimize drinking alcohol or caffeine. Both nicotine and alcohol are depressant drugs. Both require energy to detoxify the body; this energy which is better used for life and healing processes. Avoid that which is addictive or habit-forming. As you grow, you will choose more wisely.

14. Go to bed by 10 when you can. One hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after. If you are tired during the day, rest more. Rest allows the healing and rebuilding of tissues. Before sleep, briefly review the day, see where you were "on" and where you could have been better. Then bless the day and let it go. In the morning, don't arise with a busy list; start the day with gratitude and peace. -
