Oriental
Medicine is an ancient approach to treating illness and building health
with natural medicine.
- The energy system
underlies the physical body, mind, emotions and spirit.
- If the energy is
balanced, the person is healthy. Health is a state of wellness and inner
peace.
- If there is an
energy imbalance, it will manifest as physical symptoms.
- Treating the energy
system addresses the cause of illness, not merely the symptoms.
THE
ORIENTAL HEALING ARTS
- There are three
major healing arts in Oriental medicine: Bodywork Therapy, Acupuncture,
and Herbal & Diet Therapy
- One aim of these
therapies is to rebalance the energy system so the body can heal itself.
ORIENTAL
BODYWORK THERAPY
- Manual manipulation
of body tissues to rebalance the energy system.
- Relaxing, but primarily
used to treat a wide range of health problems, and maintain balance.
ACUPUNCTURE
- The insertion of
fine sterile needles at specific locations to rebalance the energy system.
- Can treat dozens
of health conditions; also restores mental & emotional well-being.
CHINESE
HERBAL MEDICINE & DIETARY THERAPY
- The use of natural
substances to rebalance the energy system. Chinese herbs have been used
for thousands of years to treat illness and build health.
- The substances
used are mostly plant parts. Some are minerals and animal products.
- Herbs are safe
and effective when prescribed by a trained practitioner on the basis
of an individual assessment.
- Most herbs should
not be self-prescribed, or taken on the recommendation of an untrained
person
